Spring is in the air at Settlers Run
09 October 2008
With the arrival of the warmer weather, the Settlers Run Golf & Country Club at Cranbourne South is blooming, literally.
The Club’s centrepiece, the Greg Norman-designed championship golf course and the extensive landscaping that surrounds it are in pristine condition and the spectacular ‘Vue at Settlers Run’ restaurant is receiving rave reviews.
Meanwhile, residential land sales are continuing at a steady pace, highlighted by the recent sale of a homesite for $400,000. The project’s developer, Medallist, says the price – believed to be a record for the area – confirms the growing appeal of Settlers Run.
“Settlers Run is in the heart of a growing part of Melbourne and we’re finding people are keen to move to Settlers Run as it offers the best of everything,” project director Daniel Smith said.
“We’re offering a terrific living environment that’s complemented by outstanding on-site facilities all with easy access to community amenities.
“Recognition of the golf course and of the Vue Restaurant is spreading. With great food and striking views of the golf course and Melbourne, Vue is the perfect place for Christmas parties and social gatherings.”
Settlers Run is a $300 million masterplanned neighbourhood that’s being created by Medallist, a specialised international development company which is a joint venture between Greg Norman’s Great White Shark Enterprises and Macquarie Group Limited.
Space isn’t the only attraction at the 500-lot development. Residents have access to the Golf & Country Club and its state-of-the-art facilities, which include the bar/bistro, function room, gym, 25-metre indoor pool, two tennis courts and a sauna.
Mr Smith said that Settlers Run has been designed to maintain the area’s natural ambience with two-thirds dedicated to green, open spaces and the world-class 18-hole golf course.
“The design of the Golf & Country Club follows a contemporary style, featuring the use of natural building materials such as rammed earth, corten, alucabond and timber,” Mr Smith said.
“It’s perfectly proportioned, maintaining the area’s natural ambience with significant green, open spaces and a truly world-class golf course.
“The course is even drought proof, keeping it sumptuously green year-round.
“The secret is the exceptional drainage and the use of Class-A recycled water which guarantees the course will be playable all summer long as it is not subject to water restrictions.
“The Golf & Country Club follows on from the golf course’s environmental initiatives and incorporates a number of sustainable design principles, including a 30,000 litre water tank and waterless male toilets.”
Located directly adjacent to the Royal Botanic Gardens in Cranbourne South, Settlers Run’s location, environmental sustainability and a unique offering are particularly desirable to purchasers.
